Report on an ordinance intituled
An Ordinance to amend further the Trading with the
Enemy Ordinance, 1914, and to effect certain pur-
poses connected therewith,

The main object of this Ordinance was to introduce
the provisions of the Trading with the Enemy Amendment
Act, 1914, 5 & 6 Geo. 5, c.12, with reference to the
office of Custodian of Enemy Property. This subject is
dealt with in sections 3 to 7, both inclusive.
Subsection (6) of section 4 is intended to prevent
any clashing with the provisions of the Alien Enemies
(Winding up) Ordinance, 1914, and subsection (3) of
section 5 is intended to avoid throwing unnecessary work
on the liquidators. A notification has been issued ex-
empting the liquidators from the operation of both section
until further notice.
Section 8 is taken from section of the Trading with|
the Enemy Amendment Act, 1914.
The
Section 9 was intended to meet the same danger as
section 9 of that Act, but it is not altogether satis-
factory and its amendment is under consideration.

with the rest of the principal Act and accordingly it did
not appear in the principal Ordinance. When the print
of the principal Act reached the Colony and the non-inclu-
